ABOUT

My name is Cole Martinez, I am a 14 year old Crossfitter and Olympic Weightlifter from Crossfit VTG in Smyrna TN. I started Crossfit five and a half years ago with my mom, Jessica Martinez, aka The 2015 & 2016 Fittest Woman in Tennessee. Our first on-ramp was on November 3, 2011 at Crossfit Murfreesboro. When we got to Crossfit Murfreesboro, I was just planning on watching my mom workout. However when we met Evan Satterfield, owner and operator of CFM, he told me that I was allowed to workout if I wanted to, so I said sure I’ll give it a try ( even though I was wearing jeans and a cotton t-shirt ). Long story short, after that on-ramp class I was hooked.
My mom, being the amazing athlete that she is, got a chance to compete on the Crossfit Murfreesboro competitive team for the 2012 Crossfit season. During the open, the team qualified for regionals and placed 9th. That experience got my dad, Chris Martinez, into Crossfit and made me realize that I wanted to be a competitive Crossfitter.
Here I am, five years after the 2012 regionals, so far I have been blessed with the opportunities to compete in a number of Crossfit competitions, including 2017 Wodapalooza, and the 2015, 2016, 2017 USA Weightlifting Youth Nationals. I hope to inspire people to never quit and I hope to one day be able to compete in the Crossfit Games.

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

  1. Watching you grow into a young man and as an athlete has been a privilege. May God bless you and guide your feet in whatever you do. He is the Lord, our rock. He prepares and hands for war and our fingers for battle. You have great parents and a great support system around you (pretty great Grandpa too, Mr. B) which are reflected in how you carry yourself.

I look forward to watching you, and your Ma, continue your athletic careers. And, props to CM for all that he does. Love you guys. I still remember that time when Rich Froning got to meet Cole “Chainsaw” Martinez.

PS – If you ever wanna carry a Scaled, masters partner in an Rx comp, say the word.
